This is the most perfect vegetable fried rice recipe you will ever eat! After this, you’re never going back to greasy take-out!

Today’s delicious recipe is, as you read up top, fried rice! Everyone and their mother knows and loves it but, not everyone knows how to make it.

Most of the time, people get fried rice from takeout. But, I find that the rice you get there is really greasy and overwhelmingly salty! So, I set out to make the perfect fried rice that has a great balance of salty flavors and not too much excess oil. And I think I landed on the perfect recipe. Maybe… even the most perfect one out there! 🤭

Key Ingredients

Here’s what were working with in today’s ingredients:

  • Rice – Obviously! 🙂 I get the best results with Jasmin rice when I steam it in a rice steamer. (If you don’t have one yet, just go make the investment! These are incredible!!)
  • Teriyaki/Soy Sauce – The comb of these two makes the rice come out perfectly salty. I’m always so bummed when the fried rice I get somewhere is just overloaded with salt from so I kept an eye on that in this recipe! 🙂
  • Veggies – I’m a busy gal just as I’m sure you are so when it comes to the veggies, I don’t have the time to wash, peel, cut, and cook them. Instead, I just use a cup of frozen veggies. This still makes amazing fried rice and it saves you some time!

Prep Time5 minsCook Time25 minsTotal Time30 mins

 2 cups jasmine rice (dry)
 ½ cup butter
 1 tsp garlic powder
 ¼ cup soy sauce
 ¼ cup teriyaki sauce
 2 cups frozen vegetables (defrosted)

1

In a rice steamer, cook two cups of jasmine rice until soft and fluffy. When the rice is almost ready, set a small pot of water to boil and put in the frozen veggies for 7ish minutes to defrost.

2

Set a large griddle (or frying pan) onto medium-high heat (375 degrees F) and put steamed rice with butter on top. When the butter is melted, mix those two together. Sprinkle garlic powder on top and mix again. Next, add the sauces (teriyaki + soy) and mix again. Lasty, strain the veggies from the pot of water and add to the rice mixture.

3

Combine them and let the rice crisp up. (This should take about two-three minutes.) Once one side is golden brown, flip the rice and let it cook again. Repeat that 1-2 more times or until you reach your preferred level of golden brown. Serve immediately. Enjoy! <3

  • If you like a little kick in your food, feel free to add a little bit of ground chili paste. It’s spicy without over powering the rest of the ingredients.
