Pre-heat your oven 425 degrees and pull out your tart tin.

Crust

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and salt until combined. Add the shortening, then with a fork mash it into the pea-sized pieces into the flour. Then, add in the water and mix with a spatula or spoon until it forms a ball.

3

Transfer that ball of dough onto a floured surface then begin to roll it out to fit the tart tin. Carefully lay the dough into the tart tin, cut off the sides, then set it aside.

Apple Filling
4

Peel then thinly slice the apple. Combine it with the brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and vanilla. Let that sit for 5 minutes. Pour the apples into the tart tin but leave out the juices left.

Streusel
5

In the same bowl, you made the apple filling combine the sugar, flour, and butter. With your fingers, mash the butter into pieces until the sugar comes together to form a crumbly streusel. Sprinkle the streusel on top of the tart then put it into your pre-heated oven.

6

Bake the apple tart for 35-40 minutes or until the crust and streusel are golden brown and the apples are soft. Let cool at least 10 minutes then enjoy! <3
