Meatballs are a classic that I am obsessed with!  This recipe is for the best meatballs that you will ever try!  It’s super delicious and easy to make.

In my opinion, meatballs are one of those classic recipes that everyone should know how to make!  That being said, they’re not that easy to make.

Over the years, I’ve made countless attempts at cooking meatballs.  I tried baking, broiling (is that a word? haha), frying then baking, and just frying.  All of those cooking methods give vastly different results and I think that, after some trial and error, I’ve finally found one that I LOVE!

Believe it or not frying is the best way to make a really fantastic meatball.  It makes the ground pork super tender and juicy which is exactly what I’m aiming for!

But, that’s not the only thing that makes these meatballs better than the rest.  So what does?

How to make the best meatballs?

The answer is CHEESE!!  Yes, cheese!  It’s the perfect ingredient to make those meatballs juicy on the inside as well as the outside.  I add cheese by simply sticking a small cube of mozzarella in the middle of the ball.  Then I cover that cheese with a lil bit of pork and that’s it!  That’s all you really need to do!  It’s easy and delicious, just the way I like it!😉

Another thing that makes meatballs difficult, is the question of how to make them really flavorful?

Obviously, add some spices!  My favorites are salt, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.  It’s simple but truly increases!

The other thing that really helps is to gain color around the outsides of the meatball.  Whenever you develop color on food, especially meat, that means that you’re developing flavor.  That’s exactly what we want!  All that caramelization is gonna really accentuate the flavors of the spices you’ve added to the ground pork.

That’s it!  That’s all you need to make fantastic meatballs every single time!  Ok, I can’t wait anymore!  Let’s get cooking!!!☺️😁

Prep Time5 minsCook Time30 minsTotal Time35 mins

 2 lbs ground pork
 2 eggs
 ½ cup bread crumbs
 1 tsp garlic powder
 1 tsp salt
 1 tsp Italian seasoning
 20 small cubes of mozzarella
 olive oil

1

With a large spoon or your hands, thoroughly mix together the ground pork, eggs, breadcrumbs, salt, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning until completely combined. Cube a block of mozzarella into about 20 small cubes (about 1/2 inches in width on each side).

2

Separate the meat mixture into 20 meatballs and stick a cube of mozzarella into each. Wrap pork around that cube. Be sure to center the mozzarella cube into each of the meatballs so they cook evenly.

3

Next, heat up a large pan with a drizzle of olive oil on medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, carefully place all the meatballs in and begin cooking. When the first side has reached a nice golden brown color, turn them all over to the next side. When that side reaches a golden brown color, flip them again to another side. Add another drizzle of olive oil and continue this process until all sides are gorgeous golden brown. (If you notice that the meatballs are beginning to turn black before they are ready on the inside, feel free to turn the heat down a little bit.)

When all the meatballs are ready, serve them with a big bowl of pasta or in a warm + crunchy meatball sub. Enjoy! <3
