This is the most delicious French toast recipe ever! It’s fluffy, cinnamony, delicious, AND incredibly easy to make! What are you waiting for? Let’s get cooking!
In my mind, French toast is such a classic breakfast. I envision it being served at a bed and breakfast somewhere in Wisconsin. I’m not quite sure why, but that’s just the way it is. 🙂
Today’s French toast is special. This French toast isn’t the type that’s served at a mom and pop B&B. I imagine it being served in a gorgeous cafe somewhere in France. This one is so much more!
It’s a fluffy delicious cinnamon french toast and it seriously tastes as if it fell straight from heaven.
Key Ingredients
The recipe turns out to be pretty simple as well! With less than 10 ingredients and 30 minutes, you can make this delicious French toast! 🙂
- Toast – This might seem not important but, it really is. The type of toast really changes a French toast. My personal favorite is Texas toast. It’s fluffy, thick, and delicious! If you don’t have access to it, get a big soft loaf at the grocery store and cut it into thick pieces. Having a thick bread makes the toast more fluffy and fancy than if you use a basic slice of white bread.
- Eggs – These are a staple ingredient in any FT recipe. My secret is to whisk them up really well so they get super fluffy.
- Milk/Heavy Cream – These two make. If you can spare the calories, definitely use heavy cream lol. If you’d rather not, milk is perfectly fine! Just make sure to really whisk it into the eggs well.
- Vanilla Extract – This stuff has two purposes. One is, of course, to make the toast have a vanilla flavor. The other purpose is to make it smell yummy!
- Brown Sugar – A lot of recipes use normal white sugar to add a bit of sweetness to the batter/dipping mixture. I find that I get better results in the flavor with brown sugar.
- Cinnamon – This is the key ingredient. Cinnamon works so perfectly with the vanilla, brown sugar, and maple syrup on top! I just can’t get over it! 🙂
Fluffy Cinnamon French Toast Recipe
In a shallow bowl, beat the eggs until they are fluffy. Then whisk in the cinnamon, brown sugar, heavy cream/milk, vanilla extract, and salt.
In a large pan on medium heat, melt a tablespoon of butter. Dip both sides of each piece of toast in the egg + milk mixtures for about three seconds per side. Then put in a pan and cook. Cook one side until it reaches a golden brown color then flip and do the same on the other side. Repeat with the rest of the bread.
Top with honey, maple syrup, and/or fruit and serve immediately. Enjoy! <3
