Last week I made the big leap and made a green smoothie. And I am pleased to announce that it turned out really well! I tweaked the recipe a little bit, made it again the next morning, and it turned out so perfect!
Key Ingredients
- Banana – This is a staple ingredient in pretty much any smoothie. Bananas make it creamy, sweet, and delicious. If you want, you can use frozen bananas for a thicker, creamier final product.
- Milk – The type of milk you use is totally up to you! My favorite in this recipe is this almond milk.
- Greens – I try to keep it simple in this category as well. I just stick to a green that I know and love, spinach. A lot of people use kale or even lettuce but I find that those are too bitter and they don’t blend very well. Spinach blends really well with the almond milk, banana, and ice to make a really creamy smoothie.
- Ice – Ice brings the whole smoothie together! The whole point of smoothies, in my opinion, is for them to be refreshing! This is where the ice comes in! It lightens up the drink to be light and energizing
