This is the best homemade salsa recipe you will ever find! In just 10 minutes, you can whip up a super fresh and delicious salsa that your friends and family are sure to love!!

Let me tell you the story of how this salsa recipe came to life. A couple of nights ago, my family and I were just chilling around the kitchen island waiting for dinner to heat up while munching on chips and salsa. We recently started trying out a new salsa because our favorite one hasn’t been in stock. My dad and brother really like it but for my mom and me, it’s a bit too spicey. My mom said she wished we could find a salsa that wasn’t spicy at all. Jokingly, my dad grabbed a can of diced tomatoes and said that this was as close as she was going to get. The next day, I was testing recipes and decided to make an attempt at spicy-less salsa. Now, I know that to a lot of you that sounds boring but trust me! The flavors of this homemade salsa turned out stunning!!!

Also, by no means do you have to keep this recipe spice free. You can definitely pop in some fresh jalapeno or cayenne pepper to kick it up a notch and still end up with the best salsa ever! 😉

What Makes A Great Homemade Salsa

To be honest, I’ve always been a bit intimidated by homemade salsas. I was never completely sure what store-bought salsas did that made them so good compared to my homemade salsa that turned out meh? This time around I tried something new and I cracked the code. The key ingredients are smokes paprika and cumin! These two kick up the flavor of the salsa by like 120%! It’s amazing!!

What’s also great about this recipe is how quick it is. In less than 15 minutes, I had a great blended salsa. Also, I didn’t have nasty hands because of having to finely chop the garlic. That’s the biggest plus for me. :). Now let me walk you through the steps of the recipe:

The Two Steps of The Recipe

  1. Roughly chop your onion and half the garlic. Put both of those, as well as the diced canned tomatoes, salt, lemon juice, and spices, into the blender. Blend on a low speed in short bursts to ensure that it’s not over blended.
  2. When it hits the consistency that you like, turn the blender off, put it in your desired bowl, and enjoy!

How easy is that? This, seriously, couldn’t be a shorter process. You get the perfect homemade salsa so quickly!!
